DESPITE the exhaustive efforts of his critics, President Rodrigo Duterte still leads over the influential world leaders, icons, including the Pope in the online poll of TIME 100. As of Sunday, Duterte enjoys his lead with five percent. This is a proof of what the people want. The majority of the Filipinos are satisfied with how the government under Duterte is managing. And it seems like the old guard of pseudo-politicians are trapped in a time warp, unable to adapt to change, and this is how they will become marginalized.
Oligarchs will always try to discredit the Duterte Revolution. They will use their resources and influence to taint this government. Last Saturday, local papers from Singapore featured the Philippines’ war against drugs. The Asian News Channel and other international media in Asia are also featuring what’s the real score in our country. And many foreigners would comment on social media that this leader that we have now is the type of leader they want in their nation.
But the otherwise is being reported on some of our broadsheets. Amir Assadollahi, a Canadian political analyst, blasted some of the biased media practitioners in the Philippines. He cited that there are some journalists here that lack integrity and honesty. Political commentators suggest that the oligarchs will do anything to adverse the true story. They feel the fear. Never has a president received so much attack. But most people do not bother listening to the fabricated info. People know what they want. They want this change to be successful.
April 2 was another example of how the majority of the Filipinos would want this country to unite for change. It was exhibited last election and again last February. If we really want this nation to be great again, we have to be one to attain the ultimate goal. Let us take advantage of the leadership of Digong who is willing to sacrifice a lot (even his own life and liberty) in order to get things done. He totally gets what we want for our beloved country.
