The Cat Cafe is a haven for cat lovers, animal lovers and simply anyone who just wants to enjoy a quiet day with these elegant creatures. Located at the Sky Park of SM Seaside City, the cafe attracts a number of people from young children to cat-loving grandparents. Anyone and everyone is welcome at the Cat Cafe.
Where it all began
Before moving to SM Seaside City, the original location of the Cat Cafe was in Guadalupe. It opened back in 2015. The first Cat Cafe in Cebu got many Cebuanos excited. Despite its old location being somewhat hidden, it still garnered a good crowd, despite the place only being able to accommodate 15 people. But the cats were and still are the celebrities.
The big move
Then, Cat Cafe moved to its present location last September. With the opening of SM Seaside, Cat Cafe was able to move to a much bigger space wherein everyone could be happy, including the cats. The Cat Cafe is now bigger compared to the old one, with ample room for people to sit down, enjoy some treats, have fun, and of course, enjoy the cats. The cats themselves have enough room to roam and laze around.
The place and the food
Decked in wood and colors of yellow and green, Cat Cafe, with its floor-to-ceiling glass walls, gives the place a sunny disposition. The menu is extensive, with lots of food offerings to enjoy such as salads and finger food, mostly comprising sandwiches. The dessert section offers mango float, bread pudding, truffles, fruit parfaits and so much more, as well as Filipino delights like halo-halo and mais con hielo. As for drinks, a smorgasbord of options is available from frappes, shakes and chillers to juices and hot coffee. No one ever goes hungry at this place!
The cats
But let us get back to the most important part of the cafe, the reason Cat Cafe is what it is today: the cats. Majestic, elegant, regal, the cats at Cat Cafe are feline royalty in their own right with customers oooh-ing and ahhh-ing in delight at the mere sight of them. From Persians to Shorthairs, the adorable cats are enough to make anyone crazy no matter the breed. They are healthy and well taken care of, and even have their own playground to keep them occupied and happy. As the saying goes, a happy pet is a wonderful pet and for sure, the cats at Cat Cafe are a delight to be with.
