LUBAO -- Former President and now second district Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo celebrated Wednesday her birthday with her constituents in her hometown.
Arroyo, who turned 70 on April 5, celebrated her birthday in Pampanga for the first time after four years. With her were her family, friends, and closest allies.
Joined by her fellow Lubaoeña Governor Lilia Pineda, Arroyo first heard a thanksgiving mass together with her husband Mike and children Mikey, Dato and Luli.
The mass was followed by the blessing and inauguration of the new Escolastica Romero District Hospital where Arroyo was accompanied by Department of Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial, Assistant Secretary Leonita Gorgolon and PhilHealth President Hildegardes Dineros.
She then met with some 401 Lubaoeña young mothers in the Buntis Congress organized by the local government led by Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab. There, she promised the would-be mothers that they would not have to spend a single centavo when they give birth at the new hospital.
Arroyo expressed her gratitude to her constituents for celebrating her special day with them, as she treated them to a simple breakfast.
Also present in her birthday celebration are Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, third district Representative Aurelio Gonzales, Board Members Anthony Torres, Arthur Salalila, Salvador Dimson, Fritzie David-Dizon and Pol Balingit, Mabalacat Mayor Boking Morales and Vice-Mayor Christian Halili, and Candaba Mayor Danilo Baylon.
