PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte attended the 70th birthday celebration of former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in Quezon City on Wednesday night.
Duterte headed to La Vista Subdivision in Quezon City to grace Arroyo's birthday bash after attending two activities held in Nueva Ecija and Pampanga.
His attendance came on the heels of Arroyo's ouster as House Deputy Speaker after she voted against the death penalty bill.
Photos from Malacañang showed that the President also brought his partner, Honeylet Avanceña, and his daughter, Veronica.
Arroyo during the event gave a birthday message before her guests.
In an interview, the former President said she wished for Duterte's success because "his success is the success of the country."
It could be seen in the photo that it was not only Arroyo who received a cake but also Duterte, who turned 72 last March 28.
Malacañang said Arroyo, whose birthday falls on April 5, had given the Chief Executive a cake topped with decorative man riding a motorbike that depicts Duterte. (SunStar Philippines)
