16-year-old boy loots peso-net proceeds, sued

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was charged with robbery before the court for allegedly stealing peso-net proceeds in Sasa in Davao City, two months ago.

In a resolution, prosecutor Irene Joy Tala-Montero found probable cause to charge Enok (name withheld for he is a minor), a resident of the same place, based on a complaint filed by Eliza Fuentes Cea, owner of the peso-net.

According to the resolution, the accused was caught in the act of pulling the coin box of a peso-net until its lock bended and slid open. The boy allegedly looted P265 from the peso-net coin box which prompted the owner to immediately ask for police assistance.

Montero said that the arrest was lawful pursuant to the 2000 Revised Rules of Criminal Procedure, adding that the boy is held liable for the charges filed against him based on the presented evidence.

The accused is currently held under the custody of the Sasa police station.
