Mt. Province awards Golden Healthy Baby 2017

BAUKO, MT. PROVINCE -- With the aim of promoting mother and child care program, the Provincial Government recently awarded to Yhalina Andrada the Golden Healthy Baby of Mountain Province during the Search for Golden Healthy Baby 2017 in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the province and the 13th Lang-ay Festival.

Baby Yhalina was delivered at exactly 12:25 in the morning of April 7, 2017 at Luiz Hora Regional Memorial Hospital (LHRMC), Bauko, Mountain Province.

The winner was given a certificate of recognition and a cash incentive of P20,000 from the Provincial Government.

Yhalina is the third child of Jobel Andrada and Claire Pablo, both farmers and a resident of Pactil, Monamon Sur, Bauko.

Andrada was followed by baby girl Jiverlyn Buyayo, who was born at the same hospital at exactly 5:31 a.m. and the daughter of Danny Buyayo and Thomasa Sugando of Guinzadan Sur, Bauko.

The award is given to the earliest baby born on April 7 following the criteria: single or twin delivery, normal spontaneous delivery birth weight of 2.5 kilogram and above, facility based delivery, birth attended by skilled birth attendant, the mother completed the four (4) prenatal visits and at least with TT2 at current pregnancy, with mother and child book, mother not hypertensive.

Roger Sacyaten, head secretariat of the 50th Foundation Anniversary and Lang-ay Festival 2017, said the provincial government thought of recognizing the golden healthy as one of the activities in observance of the twin significant events of the province. (Alfred Macalling)
