MABALACAT CITY -- Mayor Marino Morales has vowed to allocate more funds to support law enforcement units like the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Morales issued the statement during the groundbreaking ceremony for a two-story fire station in Barangay Mabiga recently.

He said law enforcement units play a vital role in the war against drugs and maintenance of peace and order in this component city.

He said the new fire station will be constructed inside a 375-square-meter property at Filhomes Subdivision in Barangay Mabiga here.

Morales, along with Vice Mayor Christian Halili, City Council members and BFP personnel, led the groundbreaking rites of the city’s first fire station on Monday, April 10.

City Fire Marshall Marilyn Buslig thanked the City Government for the fire station project.

“Napakapalad po natin at tayo ay magkakaroon na ng sariling fire station dito sa Mabiga. Asahan po ninyo ang mabilis na pagresponde ng mga kawani ng pamatay sunog dahil nasa sentro po ito ng Mabalacat City,” Buslig said.

Halili, meanwhile, lauded the Mabiga council headed by chairman Nick Manansala for making the village one of the fast developing barangays in the city.

He said a police station will also be put up in San Rafael Subdivision to expand the local law enforcement units security reach.

Halili asked the residents to support the fire station project.

“We are willing to hear your concerns. Karen pung tiga Filhomes, eko pu migaganaka uling sabewung lamu pu reng BFP karas da highway. Nung nanu pa pu ing concern yu, willing ke ngan pung makiramdam keng buri yu (Residents of Filhomes should not worry because the BFP will only turn on their sirens once they reach the highway. We will always listen to your concerns),” Halili said.

Morales also vowed to allocate funding for the concreting of roads within the subdivision.
