Pampanga cops on full alert this Holy Week

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPPO) is in full alert to ensure the security and safety of those traveling to the province for Holy Week observance.

PPPO Director Joel Consulta said that around 1,200 police personnel were deployed in Pampanga since Holy Monday, April 10, and will be posted until Easter Sunday, April 16.

He added that Oplan Summer Vacation (SumVac) was also implemented since April 1, as several help desks were set up to assist people, especially tourists.

Consulta also stressed that all their personnel will be positioned at convergence zones such as public transport terminals, Clark airport and shopping malls for quick response operations.

Various force multipliers were also deployed by local authorities to further ensure peace and order in the province, especially in the City of San Fernando and Angeles City where Maleldo 2017 and various Lenten activities will be observed.

Consulta also reminded the people who will be leaving their houses for the Holy Week to ensure that they are securely locked and all power outlets are disconnected to avoid any untoward incidents.
