Cordillera police strengthens security for Holy Week

WITH the expected influx of tourist in Ilocos Region, especially during the Holy Week, the Police Regional Office (PRO)–Cordillera is conducting enhanced security services in all places of convergence to ensure the safety of the general public.

Authorities warned the public of various threat groups which may take advantage of the situation and undertake their schemes to disrupt the activities and endanger the lives of visitors and criminal elements and conduct their illegal trades.

PRO-Cordillera regional director Chief Superintendent Francisco Sarona assures zero crime incident during the summer vacation while directing all police personnel region-wide to be wary, remain vigilant and watchful.

With the influx of tourist, police are also expecting heavy traffic as PRO-Cordillera, in partnership with the community and in collaboration with stakeholders, will undertake public safety services and provide assistance to motorists, commuters, and the general public during this summer vacation.

The regional top cop added police assistance and presence in all places of convergence, tourist destinations, terminals, churches, and main thoroughfares will be safeguarded to discourage or prevent the plans and activities of criminal elements.
