CORDILLERA School of Digital Arts (CSDA) is ready for the summer!
Daryl Augusto Guzman, assistant trainer, is ready to inspire young animators in short courses in hand drawn, basic 2D digital animation and advance 2D digital animation.
The 23-year-old will be handling summer programs for kids starting from those aged 5 to 10 to make summer fun and impart important life skills for future careers.
Daryl will be teaching traditional animation which roots itself in the simple doodles children are akin to create and in turn teach them the lifelike animated cartoons. Rough drawings will be transformed into animated characters right before the eyes of the summer trainees who will be guided and led to the amazing world of animation in just six short weeks, aiming to ignite a passion for the digital arts and instill basic principles they can use in the future.
Since 2007, Cordillera School of Digital Arts, Inc. has been offering summer arts programs with the goal to hone skills on different areas and help students create their own portfolio with projects all while enjoying their summer vacation.
This year, the series of workshops can become a blueprint for the success of the next generation of animators in the city.
Daryl is a CSDA graduate and an artist by passion, perfecting his talent in sketching, basic drawing, and portraiture, he sees to it each animation strip is digitally ready for the reels tediously working on image clean up, assuring each detail of movement is taken down and put into the final cut. He says there are at least 24 frames in one scene of an animation clip, with movement’s finely crafted to depict reality ready to be converted into a digital masterpiece to be enjoyed by everyone.
Each class is envisioned to have a minimum of seven children to maximize their potential have time for one on one peer teaching, personalizing the course for each enrollee.
Activities to apply what they have learned will be made to craft the final output, cartoons!
CSDA has crafted programs for all ages catering to a variety of interests with locals from the community teaching the summer classes.
Programs for teens aged 15 and above can avail of courses in photography and Creative Media Arts, which includes symbol design and marketing collateral design, digital painting, layout and publication design, and 3D modeling.
The school offers drawing classes which include basic and advanced stages teaching portraiture and caricature, human figure, landscape and perspective.
Painting course will include acrylic, oil, watercolor and coffee mediums. Crochet, quilting and jewelry making are up for those into handicrafts.
While for photography enthusiasts, basic and advanced Photography will be offered with image manipulation.
Daryl, as a homegrown local talent aims to share his background in arts particularly in drawing and animation to trainees this coming summer.
