Angeles village chief bares plan to improve ‘security services’

ANGELES CITY -- A village chief here has bared plans to improve security services ,including the installation of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, to monitor the safety of the residents.

Rodelio Mamac, chairman of Barangay Balibago, disclosed this during a recent barangay assembly where he reported to his constituents various programs and projects being implemented by the local government unit.

Mamac said a financial institution has approved P3.6 million for the CCTV camera project.

The barangay also launched its free wifi-zone project, which is benefiting students and residents with overseas Filipino worker relatives.

A barangay ordinance prohibits students from entering internet shops from Monday to Friday, according to Mamac.

“But with the village’s high-speed wifi, students will not be deprived of the technology because they can still access the internet in the barangay hall,” he said.

Some residents also communicate with their relatives abroad using the barangay internet connection, the village chief said.

He also disclosed the street lighting project in line with the barangay’s crime prevention program.
