APALIT -- A total of 440 public high school students from this town received on Monday educational assistance from the local government here.
The students, who are enrolled at the Bro. Andrew Gonzales Technical High School, received P1,000 each as part of the Mayor Peter C. Nucom (MPCN) scholarship program.
Nucom said the local government here has been allocating a sizeable amount of the municipal budget for the education of Apaliteño youth.
We want that all our children here in Apalit will be able to finish their studies. The Municipal Government is ready to help),” he said.
But Nucom reminded the scholars that they must maintain a high average mark and must not get any failing grade to continuously receive cash grant.
We don't just give. We also look into who's deserving because we are using the people's money),” he added.
Nucom, who just assumed the local chief executive post in mid-2016, already distributed three batches of scholarship grants, including the latest.
