Domalsin starts training for Mr. Olympia Amateur

BAGUIO City muscleman Reynold Domalsin is training early for the 2015 Mr. Olympia Amateur in Hong Kong in November.

Domalsin, who was third runner-up in the 2015 Arnold Amateur International Championships in Ohio, USA started his build-up for the tournament early in June.

The 36-year-old bodybuilder will step up training next month to get in shape as a guest contestant in the 2015 Mr. Philippines on July 18.

Domalsin said he plans to compete in the 80-kilogram weight division.

“Actually hindi naman ako nag-pabaya during the off season. I continue carrying weights pero mild lang, recently lang na nag-increase na ulit ako ng mga binubuhat,” he added.

The former Mr. Baguio (2004-05), Mr.Panagbenga (2006), and Mr. Philippines (2013) titlist, who now manages and owns the Maximus Den and Training Center in Quezon City, said he is adopting a more rigid training regimen this time around.

Domalsin said he is targeting one of the four professional cards at stake at Mr. Olympia amateur.

“I am not sure which division ang pag-bibigyan nila ng mga pro cards sa Hong Kong but according to my last update there will be four at kung papalarin we are really aiming for that,” Domalsin said.

“I admit the feat is actually a long shot for us pero we will try and do our best,” said Domalsin.

Domalsin, who started competing in 1995, has joined the list of Cordilleran athletes internationally recognized in bodybuilding which includes Jesse Sabater, Jerome Kayamso, Mike Tiwtiw, Ceasar Lukines, and Jerome Layugan. Mark Victor Pasagoy
