A MARATHON with runners in G-string, a cultural skills contest and an agro-industrial fair are among the activities lined up for the celebration of the 49th anniversary of the province on June 12 to 19.

The provincial government has released the final list of activities for the Gotad ad Ifugao.

The celebration will start on June 12 with an Independence Day program in the morning and freedom concert in the afternoon at the public plaza.

Among the highlights:

June 13. The g-string marathon, thanksgiving Mass at the St. Mary Magdalene and pre-pageant of the search for “Bugan ya WIgan di Gotad”.

June 15. Civic parade, the opening of the agro-industrial fair, agri-skills competition and demonstration and performing arts.

June 16. Cultural skills competition and coronation night for Bugan ya WIgan di Gotad.

June 17. Street dancing, skills fair, abilympics, jobs fair and municipal cultural night while the grand cultural parade, float contest, grand Gotad program, PRC application and licensing.

June 18. Balikbayan night.

Ifugao was formerly part of the old Mountain Province. It gained status as a province through Republic Act No. 4695, signed on June 18, 1966.
