Illegal gambling suspect in Matina Crossing sued

A MAN is facing charges before the court after he was caught in the act of collecting bets for illegal numbers game “Last Two” in Matina Crossing, Davao City.

Charged with violation of the Republic Act 9287, otherwise known as Penalties for Illegal Numbers Games, is Rolando Godin Robin of New Visayas in Matina.

Under section 4 of the Republic Act 9287, possession of any gambling paraphernalia and other materials used in the illegal numbers game operation is deemed prima facie evidence of an illegal gambling activity.

In a resolution, prosecutor Daniel Fernandez found probable cause to charge the accused based on the complaint filed by the Talomo Police Station.
