Volleyfest resumes today

EIGHT matches will be on hand when the 80th Araw ng Dabaw Sports Festival Inter-Secondary Volleyball Tournament resumes at 8 a.m. today at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center.

The curtain raiser pits Ateneo De Davao University (ADDU) volleybelles against Jose Maria College (JMC).

The Davao City National High School (DCNHS) girls’ team plays against Assumption College of Davao (ACD) at 8:45 a.m. while Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School (PNJK) boys team collides with JMC at 9:30 a.m.

ACD boys’ team battle University of Immaculate Concepcion (UIC) at 10:15 a.m. followed by matches between Precious International School of Davao (PISD) and PNJKIS at 11:00 a.m., General Baptist Bible College (GBBC) and ACD at 11:45 a.m., JMC and Addu at 12:15 p.m and UIC and DCNHS at 1:15 p.m.

Cash prizes await the top four teams in both boys and girls divisions in the competition presented by the Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office and organized by the Davao Volleyball Association.

The first four placers will take home P5,000, P4,000, P3,000 and P2,000.

Special awards will also be given to the most valuable player, best spiker, best blocker, best setter, best receiver, best server, best scorer and best libero. (ABM)
