CIDG cop shot dead in Pasig

A CRIMINAL Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) policeman was killed by motorcycle-riding assailants in Pasig City past midnight Tuesday.

Police Chief Inspector Rommel Macatlang was shot dead at a gas station in the corner F. Ortigas Jr. Avenue and Meralco Avenue in Pasig City around 12:30 a.m.

The victim, who was assigned at the CIDG-National Capital Region in Camp Crame, died on the spot, police said.

Police Senior Police Officer 1 Rolando Anselmo of the Pasig City Police Office said they are hunting the suspects behind the attack. (SunStar Philippines)
