Aquino promises credible polls to Binay, not endorsement

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III said Thursday how could he give his support to Vice President Jejomar Binay's presidential bid when the latter ran and supported different candidates in the 2010 and 2013 polls, respectively.

Binay has hoped that Aquino would support his presidential bid in 2016 elections.

I am presuming too much that he wants my support," Aquino said.

The President said that what he could assure to Binay and the Filipinos is to have orderly and credible polls in 2016.

"Last na major na trabaho ko siguro ‘yan," he said.

Aquino, titular head of the ruling Liberal Party, is due to announce his preferred successor after his State of the Nation Address on July 27. (SDR/Sunnex)
