THE Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company Inc.(Cepalco) is set to implement a 9-hour power outage on Sunday, April 23, which will affect several areas in Cagayan de Oro City.
This after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) advised Cepalco of the scheduled power interruption in order to facilitate annual preventive maintenance schedule of its high-voltage equipment, associated protection system and secondary devices in Tagoloan Substation.
Cepalco, on the other hand, will make use of the interruption to likewise conduct line maintenance works.
Interruption time will start at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. affecting M3-Natumulan 69KV customers that include Cagayan Corn Products in Tablon, Alwana, Cugman, Limketkai Mall, Lapasan, and Gaisano City, CM Recto Avenue.
Another 45 minutes of power interruption due to load transfer will be implemented from 6 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. which will affect areas along Kauswagan Highway, NHA Phase 1, 2 and 3 and RER Phase 1 and 2 Subdivisions, Westbound Terminal, Barangay Bulua, Iponan, Consolacion, Puntod and Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro Medical Center area along Capistrano St bounded by Echem St. up to corner Akut St. and CM Recto Avenue (UCCP side) inlcuding Licoan-Shell and Sacred Heart of Jesus Montessori School.
Also affected are portion of A. Luna St. at former Land Transportation Office towards all of Mabulay subdivision and Capt. V. Roa St. including portion of the Provincial Capitol and Northern Mindanao Medical Center, all of Corrales Extension and Osmena Extension, portion of Osmena St. from corner A.Luna St. to CM Recto including Discovery Hotel, Papa Juanito's Square and Mallberry Hotel.
Cepalco will also cut power for one hour from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. affecting portion of Carmen area from corner Agoho Drive at Waling-waling St. to Villarin St. including Max Suniel St., Matilde Neri St. Lirio Extension, Gumamela St. and Serina St., Barangay Patag and all of upper Carmen up to SM City, All of Upper Balulang and Barangay Lumbia including Rio Verde and BPC HEP, portions of Camaman-an at Carmelite area, Sta. Cruz, Bontong, Tipolohon and Alegria Hills Subdivision.
Another one hour and 30 minutes of power outage which will start from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. will be implemented.
Affected areas include barangay Macasandig, Taguanao area, Lower Sumpong, Cepalco PV Plant, Along Tomas Saco St. to Fernandez St. including Fernhill St up to 15th-26th St., Nazareth, St. Augustine Cathedral, City hall and Divisoria areas, along the streets of Burgos, Capistrano and Rizal bounded from Hayes St. up to corner Mabini St. and along Tiano St. bounded from Fernandez St. to T. Chavez St.
Cepalco said it will restore power immediately after NGCP and Cepalco will finish the line and switching works.
