DMCI, JCI, Tebow Cure Hospital partner for fun run this May

DMCI Homes in partnership with Junior Chamber International (JCI) and Tebow Cure Hospital is set to hold the JCI-CURE Color Fun Run 2017 on May 28, 2017.

DMCI Homes Davao Project Sales Manager Joey John Baquero, who was a guest on Wednesday’s at Habi at Kape, Abreeza Mall, said the company through their Kaakbay program will be supporting the conduct of Junior Chamber International (JCI) and Tebow Cure Philippines’ annual fun run. The Kaakbay program is part of DMCI’s social responsibility that promotes fostering of good relations with the communities where they operate and bring forth social activities beneficial to the Filipinos.

He said the fun run will not only bring smiles to children with disabilities but it will also benefit children with treatable conditions such as clubfoot, cleft lip, palate, and spinal deformities.

With these year’s theme “Putting the fun back in run”, the organizers aim to enlist 1,000 runners for the 3k, 5k, and 10k categories.

Participants of the JCI-CURE Color Fun Run 2017 will race around the three-hectare Verdon Parc located along Ecoland Drive corner Peacock as the event aims to raise funds for the Tebow CURE Hospital in Davao City to finance medical surgeries for physically-disabled children.

“We partner with Tebow Cure because we wanted to help Tebow Cure achieve its mission and with JCI Davao we also have a lot of human resources that we can tap. All the proceeds collected during the event will go to Tebow Cure,” said JCI Davao Incorporated Vice President for Community Development Alvin Ang.

Vincent Bitana, Tebow Cure Philippines development and sustainability officer, also invited children below 18 years old with bone deformities to their free check up as they have a free clinic every Thursdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm. (Mariel Timkang, NDDU intern)
