ANGELES CITY -- A woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu," authorities here said.
Tony Mamac, chairman of Balibago village, said that a team composed of policemen and village law enforcers conducted an operation after the suspect and her common-law husband were reportedly selling illegal drugs in several village here and in nearby Mabalacat City.
"We arrested her for possession of illegal drugs, shabu. According to our informant, she and her live-in partner pushed drugs in Dau and Balibago," Mamac said.
The suspect, whose name was withheld, is a resident of another village in this city, according to the village chief.
"Last year, we took custody of her daughter for violation of time restriction for minors (curfew). We even offered scholarship for her daughter," Mamac said.
The local police charged the woman for violating Section 11 (drug possession) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
