A 32-YEAR-OLD tricycle driver was arrested for allegedly stealing some P27,000 worth of items in Tugbok District, Davao City yesterday.
The suspect was identified as Freddie Wariza Longtingco Jr., of Deca Homes Resort Residences in Barangay Tacunan, Tugbok.
Longtingco was arrested in a follow-up operation conducted by Tugbok police.
The victim was identified as alias Mike (true name withheld), a minor, of the same place.
Police report showed that the victim rode the tricycle driven by the suspect from the terminal located at a gasoline station in Mintal going to their house.
But when he arrived at his house, he discovered that the pocket of his bag was already opened and his phone was already missing.
The victim then informed his mother who is working in Saudi Arabia who later identified the suspect through a photograph taken using his cellular phone that was synched with her mother's device.
The victim together with his aunt then reported the incident to Tugbok Police who immediately conducted a follow-up operation and arrested the suspect.
The suspect is currently detained at the Tugbok Police station for proper disposition.
