Satellite voters registration set

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Davao City is set to conduct 14 satellite registrations for new voters this month.

With only a few months left before the deadline for registration on October 31, Comelec-Davao assistant Regional Director Marlon Casquejo previously said that they will be focusing on their second round of satellite registrations as there have only been about 10 percent of unverified voters in the region who gave their biometrics.

For Davao City, as posted on Comelec District offices at Magsaysay Park for District 1, the upcoming satellite registration schedule is set today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as requested by ABS-CBN which will be at Ateneo de Davao University, Jacinto Campus followed by another at Barangay Baliok Hall on June 19.

For the second district, they will conduct satellite registrations in Barangay Gatungan in Buhangin on June 14, Barangay Mudiang on June 17, Barangay Paradise Embak on June 22, Paquibato Proper on June 24 and Barangay Tigatto on June 28.

For the third district, satellite registrations will be conducted in Barangay Sto. Nino on June 14 to 15, Barangay Sibulan on June 18, Barangay, Kilate on June 19, Barangay Megcawayan on June 21 to 22, Barangay Carmen on June 25, Barangay Cadalian on June 26, and Barangay Inayangan on June 28 to 29.

Speaking during the 'Kapehan sa Dabaw' recently, Casquejo emphasized that offices in Magsaysay Park are open on Sundays.

It was previously reported that there are still about 179,967 registered voters in the city who needs to submit their biometrics.

Those registered voters who do not have biometrics will be delisted and will not be allowed to vote on the 2016 elections.(KGL)
