Pregnant woman caught with P3-M worth of shabu

AUTHORITIES recovered Thursday some P3 million worth of suspected shabu from a pregnant woman in Caloocan City.

The 30-year-old woman was said to be in her eight month of pregnancy.

Northern Police District–Drug Enforcement Unit chief Cecilio Tomas Jr. said the suspect, identified as Rohannie Magdara, was on her way to delivering 500 grams of illegal drugs packed in several sachets when she was arrested.

He said Magdara was implicated by another drug suspect identified as Julius Garcia, who was arrested in Caloocan City a day before.

Arrested along with Garcia on Wednesday were Zaldy Medina and Jeremy Perez, who were then transacting with him during the operation.

"Na-buy bust namin yung isang courier ng drugs at pati yung mga binabagsakan niya nakuha rin namin," Tomas said.

Tomas said they are yet to get Magdara’s statement as she is already due for giving birth.

However, she will still be charged for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, Tomas added. (SunStar Philippines)
