Corpus Christi to host inter-school football

ANOTHER welcome development greets CMOFA president Percy Guarin when Dr. Alfonso del Fierro of Corpus Christi School recently agreed to host the first season of inter-school football league here in July.

“It’s a big yes. A happy day for CdeO football,” tweets Guarin shortly after his meeting with the sports-loving school director of Corpus Christi.

Already, several schools including Rosevale and Abbas have signified their intention to participate in the league that will be played at the football pitch of upper Corpus Christi-Pueblo.

“Naa pud miy mga bata sa Lumbia nga among hatagan og chance nga maka-apil,” said former Sun.Star Cebu sportswriter Jack Biantan, now the new general manager of Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro.

The country’s football great, Chieffy Caligdong is also expressing his desire to establish a football academy in Cagayan de Oro when he came here, some weeks ago, during the well-attended Globe Football Festival in brgy. Carmen. (LLS)
