THE Bacolod City Legal Office Enforcement Unit on Thursday conducted an on-the-spot inspection in several internet cafés at the downtown area and those operating near school belts.
Rey Demisana, head of the enforcement team, said they caught on the act more or less 100 students inside the internet cafés during class hours.
Their presence inside the internet cafes is a violation of the provisions of City Ordinance No. 341, series of 2003 amended by City Ordinance No. 468, series of 2009 which prohibits acceptance of students and minors inside the internet cafés during class hours.
He said they will issue a notice of violation to the owners of the internet stations which they caught violating the said ordinance.
Continued violation of the owners will lead to the cancellation of their business permits, he added.(CNC)
