A feast at The Fat Cow

IT WAS a regular day at the office and by regular, I meant the clashing sound of keyboard and fingers, and papers, there were definitely more papers everywhere. Just when I thought of breaking this routine, “pop,” a friend invited me and Kuya Reuel John (RJ) for lunch to try out the new dishes at The Fat Cow.

Of course we went because you know, eating is my happiness and it's The Fat Cow. I have already tried it before when they just opened (a year ago) and it got a good impression on me.

Honestly, I was excited with the new dishes because I know Chef Patrick Co is really keen on flavors and presentation! Really, every plate they served is Instagram-worthy.

We started with Arugula and Prosciutto Salad which had slices of olives on it. I don't really eat olives but it blended well with the salad so I had some. Then, we were served with their house blend iced tea which was super good. I only had one glass though, next time I'll take a pitcher... haha.

Next, we had country bread with tomato spread. The spread was delicious, and it's not too sweet or bland either, I can have it without the bread.

We also had the Four Cheese and Truffle Oyster. I think I got excited at the sight of seafood that I ate it right away, after I chewed the first oyster, Kuya RJ said it's not supposed to be chewed because it’s fresh.

Then we had the Kurobuta Cheese Katsu with Mashed Sweet Potato, I conclude that this is my favorite. I like it because the pork is not all fat and it's finely fried but the best part actually was the sweet potato mash, god how I wish I studied culinary so I would know what were the ingredients used.

The last they served was Fried Chicken and Corn Waffles with muscovado syrup. By this time, I was already full so I only had a bite. It was good. Waffle and chicken with that natural sugar wouldn't make anyone guilty for having more.

The Fat Cow is located at Mabini Extension Corner V. Mapa St. Barangay 10-A, Davao City. It's in a complex near The Yellow Hauz Cafe.
