Man dead in shooting incident in Bacolod City

A YOUNG man was shot to death by three unidentified men early Sunday morning, April 30, at a relocation site in Zone 2, Purok Alunan in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.

The victim was identified as Lorry Cantera, 21, of Purok 8, Barangay Alangilan.

Police Station 5 Head Sherlock Gabana said Cantera and his younger brother Jimmy were walking towards their motorcycle when they were followed by three assailants around 12:10 a.m.

The gunmen fired at them and fled.

The elder Cantera succumbed to head injuries.

Recovered from the scene were three fired cartridge cases of .9mm caliber.

The victims had an altercation with the other group inside a carnival an hour before the incident.

Cantera’s younger brother was unharmed.

Mauled to death

In another development, a 15-year old boy was mauled to death by unidentified men inside a disco bar on Rizal Street at Barangay I in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental early Sunday morning.

Police identified the fatality as Angelo Domini of Merced Javellana, Barangay Don Salvador Benedicto, Pontevedra town.

Investigation showed the victim together with his friends and relatives were dancing when a commotion happened inside the bar around 2:10 a.m.

The victim fell down after he was hit by a hard object.

He sustained a head injury and was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A follow-up investigation is ongoing.
