Capitol probes erring security guards

NEGROS Occidental Provincial Legal Officer Jose Maria Valencia said Wednesday, May 3 that they are investigating the erring security guards assigned at pala-pala (food terminal) on San Juan Street, Bacolod City.

Some of the security guards were allegedly involved in violent incidents, he said.

Valencia said the security personnel at pala-pala are under the Economic Enterprise and Development Department, and not from the Provincial Capitol main building.

Earlier, the Ilobac Security Agency, in-charge of the security personnel at pala-pala, reportedly failed to report to the Capitol after the stabbing incident on March 31 that led to the death of Jundel Molina, 29, of Barangay 6, Bacolod City.

The suspect identified as Emmanuel Sison, 33, of Barangay 17, is a utility worker of the agency contracted by the provincial government. He surrendered to the police.

Another security guard also assigned at Pala-Pala, who is from Ilobac Security Agency, was drunk while on duty.

Valencia said he is waiting for the incident reports before taking action.

“If there’s a problem, we have to make a decision once and for all,” he added.
