A TOTAL of 18 teams from across the country will converge at the Sta. Maria fields in Talisay City for the staging of the 2017 Negros Occidental Football Association (Nofa) 12 and under Invitational Cup on May 4 to 7.
Nofa president Ricky Yanson said the 9-a-side event in partnership with the Dynamic Football League (DFL) aims to elevate not only the level of football in the country but also the lives of young aspiring players.
For the past three years, Nofa and DFL have been consistent partners in organizing tournaments for the grassroots.
Eligible to join are those players born January 1, 2005 and later. Each team must be composed of 14 to 16 players.
In addition to free registration, Nofa will also provide a subsidy to participating teams to defray their expenses.
On Wednesday, May 3, the screening of players will be held at 1 p.m. followed by the managers’ committee meeting and a welcome dinner.
The Nofa won the championship title two years ago when they defeated Sta. Barbara FC, 1-nil at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City. (HGD)
