Classes ‘85, ‘99, ‘70 top NOHS Unity Cup

MASTER bowler Iran Pielago lifted Class ‘85, with a 465-440 score against Class ‘94 for their first championship title in Bracket A of the just concluded 2017 Negros Occidental High School at NOHSAAI Unity Cup Bowling Fellowship Season 2 at Negros Super Lanes in Bacolod City.

Peter Deocadiz and master bowler Jolores Pabon of first runner-up Class ‘94 tried to cut down the lead to a single digit but Pielago’s high-game of 122 pinfalls widened the gap.

Class ‘94 earned the right to challenge the top seed by defeating third seed Class ‘73 led by Hernan Garciniego, 481-468.

The surging fifth seed Class ’95, anchored by Essho Garcia, was stopped by second runner-up Class ‘73, 463-420, after they upset fourth seed Class ‘97 headed by Dannie Uguil, 498-482.

In Bracket B, Class ‘99 defeated first runner-up 2000up in one game, 554-512, to record its three straight championship titles – two in Bracket B and one in Bracket A.

Completing the top five winners were second runner-up, Class ‘96 anchored by Cyril Mayordomo; third runner-up, Class ’84; and fourth runner-up, Class ‘65.

In Bracket C, Class ‘70 headed by Vita de Paula, squeezed past Class ‘71 of Lea Uy scoring 467-456. Completing the top five winners were first runner-up, Class ’71; second runner-up, Class ’88; third runner-up, Class ‘80, and fourth runner-up, Class ‘65. (HGD)
