FIVE persons, including a father and his three sons, are facing multiple charges after they intervened in the anti-illegal gambling operation of Police Station 6 Thursday, May 4, at Purok Balonggay, Barangay 28 in Bacolod City.
Charged for obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and direct assault upon agent of person in authority before the City Prosecutor's Office Friday were Cipriano Juarez, and his sons Ceasar, Jay-ar and Niño, and Joemarie Paulmitan.
Police Station 6 Head Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 6, said six persons, including Paulmitan, were arrested while playing “bog-oy.”
Paulmitan went to the house of the Juarez family to hide, but he was subdued by the police.
A commotion ensued when the Juarez family reacted to Paulmitan's apprehension.
Sedel said the Juarez family harassed them that resulted to the injuries of three policemen, including him.
One of the suspects was also hurt in the incident.
Police recovered a hammer from Ceasar Juarez.
All suspects were brought to the police station, where the Juarez family continued their rude behavior, Sedel said.
3 nabbed for drugs
Meanwhile, three persons were arrested for sale and possession of illegal drugs in separate operations in the past two days.
In Bacolod City, Angelica Gonzales, 28 was collared by police in a drug bust at Purok Katilingban, Barangay 39 last Thursday.
Gonzales yielded three sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and the P200 marked money.
Rodel Pelayo, 18, was arrested in a drug bust at Purok Jordan, Barangay Paraiso, Sagay City on the same day that led to a recovery of four sachets of shabu and the P200 marked money.
Allan Panaligan, 18,was arrested at Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City last Wednesday after police seized from him seven sachets of shabu and the P200 marked money.
