Darussalam bookshop to feature new products

DARUSSALAM Bookshop, the only Islamic bookshop in Davao City, targets to display Halal medicinal products, and not just Islamic books, in their store before Ramadan season.

Cheema Español, the owner and manager of Darussalam Bookshop in Roxas Avenue was present during the Halal Trade and Tourism Expo at Abreeza Ayala Malls last Friday, May 5, said they plan to further their display at their bookshop by incorporating other products aside from the Islamic inspirational and religious books that they are already displaying in their shop.

Since it’s opening on July 16 last year, the bookstore has since been ordered by Muslims around the Philippines. They already have buyers and distributors from Marawi, General Santos City, Mandaluyong, and other parts of Luzon.

Español said they will be displaying Islamic medicinal items such as honey, black seed, and black seed oil, from the Middle East, which are prophetic medicine as some of the Islamic books they were referring to said so.

The bookstore also partnered with MS3 Agri-Ventures for the display of Halal-certified chocolates and cocoa products.

Aside from the food and Islamic medicinal items, Español said they are targeting to receive new titles from Malaysia, also before Ramadan season.

“We have already coordinated with Malaysia, in one of the biggest Islamic bookstore there. We sent email orders. So we can have these new books in the future,” said Español.

Darussalam bookshop is a multilingual international islamic publishing house with the main headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It has branches in different continents like United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, and South America. Asian branches include United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and India.
