Some parts of Negros Occidental served by Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) and Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (Noceco) will experience brownouts today.

In a media advisory released by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP), it is setting a power service interruption along its Calumangan-San Enrique 69KV line under the Noceco coverage area from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to conduct repair of damaged conductors and replacement of corroded insulators.

Chuchie Destriza, general manager of Ceneco, said in a press statement the distribution utility shall take advantage of this downtime by implementing simultaneous maintenance activities.

Most portions of Bago City are affected, she said.

Moreover, some Ceneco consumers may still experience power interruption tomorrow.

Destriza said continuous maintenance activities will be conducted in order to ensure stability of their distribution lines.

In an advisory, the electric cooperative said it has scheduled replacement of rotten primary poles covering portions of Barangays Mansilingan and Alijis in Bacolod City, Murcia, and Salvador Benedicto from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ceneco advises its consumers that, in the event of any power interruption, electrical switches should be turned-off for safety reasons.

When electricity supply resumes, provide an allowance of about 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge, it added.
