IN LINE with calamity preparedness and resiliency, the third Philippine Building and Construction Expo (Philbex) Davao will showcase resilient construction materials on May 11 to 14 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier.
During the Kapehan sa Dabaw weekly media forum held at SM City Davao last Monday, May 8, Worldbex marketing director Jun Richmond Ang invited all those interested with construction and design industry, even those who are not design professionals, to participate in the event as it would not have admission charges and is open to everyone.
Aside from the construction and design aesthetics, Ang said the expo is also significant as it will showcase resilient construction materials that would be helpful in times of calamities.
“Resilient materials are available in the market because of the ‘big one’, the big earthquake, that’s bound to happen. In Philbex Davao, you will see a plethora of resilient construction materials that would equip us for, let’s say, earthquakes, flood, or fire. It would help a lot of people,” Ang said.
“Davao must be ready with materials that would equip them whenever the ‘big one’ arrives. With Philbex Davao, you can talk to architects, interior designers, engineers who can help you whenever you’re building a home, or a space to be ready,” he added.
The event, aside from showcasing the construction and design industry’s innovative range of products and services, will also feature key highlights like the Architects Gallery, Interior Designers Gallery, and the Worldbex Lab.
Architects Gallery will be a venue where top firms would display their modern design innovations that were not yet presented anywhere else. The Interior Designers Gallery is a presentation in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers–Mindanao Chapter. This would be where the participants will find inspiring and original design by the interior designers.
Aside from the exhibit that the participants can check, there would also be seminars and mini talk shows to provide free-flowing exchange of relevant information and updates about the industry.
The event aims to unite the different provinces in the region through the development and evolution of building and construction, interior design and architecture, and tourism and hospitality.
