Woman found dead inside Davao City inn

A WOMAN was found dead underneath a bed inside a room in one of the inns in San Pedro, Davao City after she was supposedly hit by a cover of a toilet tank.

Initial investigation of the police said around 9 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, they received a report from the inn that they found a slain body with swelling and reddish head.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) operatives identified the victim as Rubinaire Ibara Rabara, 37, from Urdaneta, Pangasinan based on her passport.

Authorities recovered from the crime scene a broken toilet water tank cover which is believed to be used as the murder weapon, one shoulder bag containing her passport, wallet and other personal belongings.

Investigators are looking into misunderstanding as the motive of the crime based on the writing they discovered at the mirror of the CR to quote in Cebuano, "mao nai maayo sa mangilad dili motuman sa sabot (This is what swindlers deserve)."

The front desk of the establishment said that two unidentified male persons checked in at about 7:56 p.m., Monday, May 8, wherein one suspect filled up a customer's registration form in the name of Junaid Macadatar while about 10 p.m. of May 8, the victim allegedly arrived and asked the front desk where Room No. 76 was.

The police are still reviewing the CCTV footage of the said establishment and other witnesses' accounts for possible identification and apprehension of the suspects.

Follow up investigation is also being conducted to determine whether the suspects are still in the city.

rDavao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Ma. Teresita Gaspan said that they have been maximizing their efforts in deploying their personal.

Gaspan added that they have also assigned tourist police in identified inns in the city.

The body of the victim was brought to Angel Funeral Homes for required autopsy.
