THE Black Knights FC and the Crocs FC clinched titles in their respective divisions in the ongoing Davao Football Association (DFA) Independence Day Football Festival that kicked off at the Tionko field Friday.
Black Knights FC outlasted Ateneo Blue via penalty shootout, 2-1, in their boys 12-under championship game. Crocs FC placed third after nipping Anakk Digos, 3-2.
But Crocs FC redeemed itself by emerging champion in the mixed eight and under category by eking out a 1-0 win over Southshield FC. Hyenas FC, meanwhile, defeated Philippine Women’s College (PWC), 2-1, to take the third spot.
In the mixed six and under division, Hyenas FC blanked Anakk Padada, 2-0, to annex the crown while PWC edged Souhtshield FC, 2-1,
to place third.
A-Kids, for its part, copped the mixed under-10 title at the expense of Anakk Digos and Crocs FC-B who placed second and third, respectively.
The elimination and finals games in the boys under-16, girls under-16 and boys under-14 were still being played as of Saturday press time.
Games in men’s open, women’s open and 38-above categories will be played today.
