CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- A suspected member of an alleged gun-for-hire group was killed after engaging in a shootout with operatives of Pampanga police on Friday, May 12.
The alleged gun-for-hire identified as Romeo Nuñez, 47, resident of adjacent Mexico town, was killed in Barangay Dolores on Friday midnight.
Superintendent Michael Masangcay of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office reportedly received a tip from an informant that the suspect will operate on that instance.
This prompted the elements of the Police Public Safety Company to watch over the possible entry points of the suspect to flag him down.
Around midnight, Nuñez allegedly passed by Dolores village where the authorities tried to flag him down to check if he is carrying any firearms and if they are licensed.
During their conversation, Nuñez allegedly drew his gun and tried to aim at the police.
The incident prompted the police to retaliate and fire at the suspect which resulted to his death.
Recovered from the crime scene was an unregistered caliber .45 pistol and ammunitions.
