SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE -- About 671 were reported “near-hires” during the recently concluded job and business fair at Ayala Harbor Point Mall.
“Near-hires are job applicants who were considered hired but still need to submit additional or lacking requirements, or may need to attend further interviews or tests/exams,” Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) Zambales Field Office head Reynante Lugtu said.
Dole will be conducting a month-long monitoring for the “near-hires”, as well as those subjected for further interview from reports submitted by the job and business fair employer-participants.
“We are hopeful that these applicants would eventually be hired,” Lugtu said.
Around 68 local companies and eight Philippine Overseas Employment Administration-accredited overseas private recruitment agencies offered jobs for 2,645 local and 1,128 overseas employments, respectively.
A number of Dole's partner agencies were present to provide assistance to jobseekers namely Department of Trade and Industry, Social Security System, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig, and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration. (PIA)
