Suspect linked to Inopacan massacre arrested in Bohol

A MAN who was linked to the infamous “Inopacan Massacre” was nabbed on Saturday by the joint elements of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police in Bohol.

The AFP identified the accused as Exusperado Lloren who is facing 15 counts of murder before a Manila court in relation to his involvement in the killing of at least 67 New People's Army members in the 1980s.

The remains were discovered by authorities along Mt. Sapang Dako, Baranggay Culisihan, Inopacan Leyte on August 27, 2006.

The AFP said Lloren, 65, is a former secretary the leftist group's Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee (EVRPC).

Lloren joined politics in 1997 wherein he was first elected as barangay captain of Pagina, Jagna, Bohol.

He is also facing graft and estafa charges at the Office of the Ombudsman Visayas. (Sunnex)
