FIRE razed a tire-recycling plant on Sunday night, May 21, in Barangay Tamiao, Compostela, Cebu.
Fire Chief Investigator Elenito Abarca said no one was hurt during the incident since the blaze was confined in the plant’s premises.
Abarca said a pile of tires may have ignited the fire, saying these are combustible materials.
The plant melted tires and turned them into bunker fuel but it has ceased operations since last year.
Firefighters received the alarm around 11:05 p.m. and the fire was controlled around 11:25 p.m.
