'Drug lord' dead in Mandaue shootout

A SUSPECTED drug lord died in a shootout with the authorities in a drug bust on Thursday dawn, May 25, in Bakilid, Mandaue City.

Christian Tabanao Aquino, a top one high-value target, engaged the personnel of Regional Intelligence Division (RID)-Central Visayas and Regional Special Operations Group around 1:30 a.m. in Herana Building, L. Jaime St., Sitio Nalua, Barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City.

Aquino was rushed to a private hospital in Mandaue City. He was pronounced dead around 10:40 a.m.

Seized from Aquino were .38 revolver and two small packs of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu." (SunStar Cebu)
