EIGHT people were arrested while some P150,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu" were recovered in an anti-drug operations in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police said on Thursday, May 25.
Zamboanga del Norte Police Director Edwin Buenaventura Wagan said the suspects were arrested in a drug bust around 11 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, at a pension house in the village of Sta. Filomena, Dipolog City.
Wagan identified the suspects as follows: Ronilyn Macalisang, 21, Arjun Jaralve, 35, Michael Angelo Regencia, 20, Fernando Gumela, 25, Jayson Paranguay, 22, Guilly John Adriatico, 23, Sherwin Rey Saso, 20, and, Rhea Gay Flores, 16.
Wagan said confiscated were the following: P1,000 marked money consisting of five P100 bills and one P500 bill, P150,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in one-small size, one medium-sized and six big-sized heat-sealed plastic sachets, a mobile phone, prohibited drug paraphernalia, and, other personal belongings.
The suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them, according to Wagan. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
