Baguio City landslide kills 1, injures 2

A 39-YEAR-OLD woman died, while her son and nephew were injured, after they were buried by a landslide in Pinesville Subdivision, Barangay Kias, Baguio City Thursday afternoon.

The casualties were identified as Jemma Mendoza, her son Lenary and nephew, Nathaniel.

Due to incessant rains, a riprap wall collapsed and buried the house where the victims were in.

The victims were rushed to the Baguio General Hospital, but Mendoza didn't make it alive.

Investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the wall collapse.

Meanwhile, City Mayor Maurico Domogan has ordered a cleanup of drainages and inspection of the City Camp Lagoon as the onset of the rainy season begins.
