City Council to hold admin hearings on cases of 2 village chiefs

THE City Council of Bacolod committee on laws, ordinances and good government will conduct hearings on the administrative cases filed against two village chiefs, including Noli Villarosa of Barangay Tangub and Manuel Huelar Jr. of Barangay 35.

Villarosa, president of Liga ng mga Barangay, is an ex-officio member of the City Council.

Huelar, who is facing drug charges, is detained at the Metro Bacolod District Jail in Barangay Handumanan.

Distrito said other hearings are scheduled on May 29, 30, June 1 and June 2 after the initial hearing held yesterday.

The committee will also hear the cases filed against village chiefs Vemver Ray Buenafe of Barangay Alijis, Friday Solinap of Barangay Villamonte, and Angelito Abaring Jr. of Barangay Bata.

“The hearings will determine whether or not the respondents acted in bad faith in performing their duties as barangay officials,” Distrito said.

“The issues will be joined during the hearing and the committee will then come up with a recommendation either to dismiss the case for lack of merit or to suspend the respondent,” he added.
