Robbery hold-up suspect arrested

A ROBBERY suspect was arrested in a follow-up operation conducted by personnel of Police Station 1 at Vendors Plaza, Reclamation Area, Barangay 12, Bacolod City Friday morning.

Arrested was Edison Delfin alias “Suli”, 29, of Sto. Nino Norte, Arevalo, Iloilo City.

Senior Inspector Richard Fajarito, chief of Police Station 1, said at about 6:50 a.m., Diana Estephanie Sian, 33, of Purok Narra, Barangay 8, was selling her tissue products when the suspect approached her, pointed a knife at her, and declared hold-up.

The suspect took her cash collection worth P850 and cellular phone worth P1,000.

Fajarito said Sian’s cellular phone was also recovered from Delfin’s possession during his arrest.

He said Delfin is now detained at Police Station 1.

Meanwhile, two men were arrested in joint operation conducted by personnel of Silay City Police Station and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at Sitio Yuhom, Barangay Guinhalaran, of said city Saturday morning.

Arrested for alleged illegal possession of firearms were Danilo Enopasa, 57, of Sitio Berrano, Barangay Lantad, and Alvin Givera, 43, of Barangay Mambulac, both in Silay City.

Police recovered from them seven live ammunition of .38 caliber, one .9mm caliber, three live ammunition of .9mm caliber, and two homemade 38 caliber, police records show.

Man shot by co-worker

A man was shot by his co-worker at Brgy. Manghanoy La Castellana Friday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as Gino Valente, 22, of Sitio Antipolay, La Castellana.

Senior Police Officer 3 Leo Laguna, investigator of La Castellana Municipal Police Station, said Valente sustained wound in his right leg when his co-worker Deomides Antoque, 40, fired at him using a 12-gauge shotgun.

Investigation revealed that Deomides was inside his house when Valente, who was under the influence of intoxicating liquor, challenged him to a fight, Laguna said.

He said Deomedes took his firearm and shot the victim.

Valente was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), while the suspect fled.

Meanwhile, a 19-year old was also stabbed by his neighbor in Brgy. Molocaboc in Sagay City Saturday morning.

Police Officer 3 Rolin Jaluag, investigator of Sagay City Police Station, said at about 2:30 a.m., Victor Metoda was having a drinking session with his friends when his neighbor Justin Pillepas, 19, attacked him using an ice pick.

Metoda sustained multiple wounds and was rushed to the CLMMRH while the suspect fled./MAP
