FOLLOWING the successful run of the Koreanovela “My Love from the Star” in 2014, the Kapuso Network is set to air its Filipino remake.
Starring Jennylyn Mercado as Steffi Chavez and newest Kapuso heartthrob Gil Cuerva as Matteo Domingo, the local adaptation of the internationally acclaimed Korean TV series will surely have a touch of Filipino as it portrays the “mala-aso’t pusa” and “abot-langit kilig” love story.
The strikingly beautiful, sophisticated, and overly confident popular actress Steffi and the highly intelligent, aloof, but cold and often distant Matteo will finally start entertaining the Pinoyteleviewers via the GMA Telebabad block starting tonight.
The life of Steffi, who is known as senseless and careless at times, is expected to become extra exciting when she meets the extra-terrestrial being who is forced to live his days here on Earth.
With Bb. Joyce Bernal at the helm of the production, a statement from GMA Network stated that "The story begins over 400 years ago when Matteo’s spaceship crash-landed on Earth. Since then, he has lived many lives and eagerly awaits the return of beings from his planet to take him home. He starts counting down the days and has about three months left of waiting when he meets and encounters Steffi."
Amid the popularity of Steffi, Matteo will be clueless about it, which results to their disagreement at the beginning. However, attraction must be so strong between them that it will eventually grow into something bigger and deeper. How unique love could possibly get between a human and an alien?
Among the other cast members are Christian Bautista as Winston Libredo, Steffi's childhood friend who is inlove with her; Jackie Rice as Lucy Yuzon, Steffi's childhood buddy; and Rhian Ramos as Rachel Andrada, another sought-after actress and the number 1 rival of Steffi in the industry.
The Pinoy adaptation of "My Love from the Star" will be aired right after Mulawin vs. Ravena on GMA Telebabad.
