CEBU CITY (Updated) -- Police arrested 10 suspected drug pushers and users in a series of drug busts in Danao City, northern Cebu, on Tuesday morning, May 30.
Danao Police Chief Gerard Ace Pelare said they seized shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P621,370, and a .9mm black widow pistol.
The suspects, Jason Pasiluna, Brian Giangan, Naome Elvira Mamites, Aljesse Mamites, Lovely Mae Mamites, Erwin Rabillas, Erlinda Rabillas, Adrian Calzada, Lemuel Formentera, and Rodney Gonzaga were caught in three operations in the barangays of Looc, Taytay, and Poblacion from 2:30 a.m. to 7:28 a.m.
Operatives of Drug Enforcement Unit, Special Weapons and Tactics, and Provincial Public Safety Company also seized P3,200 cash believed to be suspects' proceeds.
Drug paraphernalia, such as disposable lighters, strips of tin foil, and hand-rolled tissues, were also recovered from them.
The suspects will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which prohibits the sale and possession of shabu.
