Toni, Paul spend honeymoon in Amanpulo

TONI Gonzaga admitted Sunday that the reality of being married has not sunk in yet.

The television host said that she's still adjusting to her new life because she's used to having her parents and sister, Alex, with her.

"Nakakapanibago. Siguro nung aalis na ako ng bahay, doon nag-sink in lahat sa akin. Naging emotional (ako). Medyo naiyak ako kasi 31 years ng buhay ko, kasama ko parents ko. Parang ang weird na iba na yung kasama ko sa bahay," she said.

But the TV host added that she's happy to start a new life with director Paul Soriano and just misses her family.

"Masaya ako siyempre sa bagong chapter ito ng buhay ko, kaya lang siyempre, meron pa rin yung separation anxiety sa family," she said.

The newlyweds were seen together for the first time after their June 12 wedding at the 46th Box Office Entertainment Awards held at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City.

Gonzaga, who received the Box Office Queen trophy for her 2014 movie "Starting Over Again," recalled the day after their Independence Day wedding.

"Late akong nagising, mas nauna siyang [Soriano] nagising at wala na akong katabi. Yun pala siya ang nag-ready ng everything," she said.

Soriano said that he just made sure that his wife will have everything she needs as soon as she wakes up.

"I just prepared her favorite lunch. I got some of her favorite food to be brought to the house, so that when she wakes up, she had her favorite food on the table," he said.

Meanwhile, the showbiz couple left Manila on Monday for their honeymoon at Amanpulo Resort in Palawan.

According to Gonzaga, the trip was a wedding gift from their godmother, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino.

"Actually ang tagal na nito. Sabi ni Ate Kris [Aquino], 'Toni, grabe you're going to get married so finally you can travel with Paul na kayo na lang. Hindi na yung magkahiwalay ang airplane tapos doon na lang kayo magkikita,'" Gonzaga said.

The TV host said she's been planning to visit the luxury resort. Her family however is not into beach vacations.

"Pangarap ko na magpunta ng Amanpulo, kaya lang ayaw ng family ko kasi hindi sila beach person. Kahit anong yaya ko sa Amanpulo, ayaw talaga nila. Kaya sabi ko kapag nag-asawa ako, pupunta ako doon," she said.

Gonzaga’s next hosting gig is the new season of “Pinoy Big Brother,” which will kick off on Saturday. (Sunnex)
