Trader shot dead in Pangasinan

MALASIQUI, Pangasinan -- A businessman was shot dead by a lone gun man in front of his store in Poblacion, Malasiqui, at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31.

The victim, Edmund Mendoza, 65, was sweeping in front of his shop when shot by a lone gun man, police here said.

Mendoza sustained two gunshot wounds in the head and another in the arm and died on the spot.

After the shooting, the gunman casually walked to a gasoline station where a motorcycle driven by his cohort waited for him, police said.

Superintendent Roland Sacyat, chief of police of Malasiqui, said motive of the slaying was still undetermined but the police were not discounting the possibility that it has something to do with business. (PNA)
